Documentation
The most up-to-date documentation is available on the OLIE site -
http://olie.bronack.net. Check for help installing, configuring, and using OLIE. Join
the OLIE development group (free) for access to updates, FAQs, and other
community-based support services.
Installation Quick-Start:
- Download the Olie Core.
- Unzip the Olie Core and look for the instructions.txt file.
- Upload the Olie Core into your web directory, following the
directions in the instructions file.
- Configure OLIE by logging onto http://<yoursite>/olie/admin.asp
(username="admin" & password="!admin!") and clicking
on "Site Settings." Be sure to change your administrative
password AND rename your database right away.
Note about ConquerChat: If you do not have a global.asa file in
your web folder, you will need one to make the chat work. OLIE uses
conquerchat, and the
conquerchat scripting objects must be loaded into the global.asa file. If
you already have one, simply copy the conquerchat objects from the global.asa
file provided and paste into your own. Otherwise, just leave everything
as-is and you should not have any problems.
You are ready to go ... enjoy.
Contributing to OLIE
OLIE was developed under the open source spirit. The idea is to make
all of the code freely available so that those who download and use it will
continue to modify and improve it. Under the license
agreement, OLIE may not
be downloaded and sold. It is the author's intent that any useful
modifications or improvements made by OLIE users will be offered back to the
OLIE community, as well. Updates, patches, fixes, modifications, and
improvements are all welcome and will be distributed via the OLIE website:
http://olie.bronack.net.
Beta-testing/Co-development: Those interested in beta-testing
Olie fixes and add-ons are encouraged to join the "olie-friends" mail
list by sending a message to the list address --olie-friends@bronack.net
-- with "subscribe" in the subject (to unsubscribe, change the subject to
